A global honour administered through the Africa Section

About ICD Fellowship

Fellowship in the International College of Dentists is an invitation-based honour for dentists whose professional achievement, character, service, and contribution to dentistry reflect the standards of the College. It is not an open-application membership programme.

ICD Global traces the College to its founding in Tokyo in 1920. The worldwide organisation reports more than 12,000 Fellows across 140 countries, connected through approved Sections and regional structures.

Who May Be Considered?

Candidates should be established dental professionals with a record of distinction, integrity, leadership, and service to the profession or community. The Africa Section considers candidates within its regional remit and applies the standards and procedures established by the College.

Nomination and Induction

  1. A current Fellow puts forward a candidate for consideration.
  2. The nomination is reviewed through the Africa Section's appropriate committee and governance process.
  3. Approved candidates receive formal induction through an authorised College ceremony or Convocation.
  4. New Fellows join an international professional community while participating through their Section.

Nomination does not guarantee election. The Section Office can explain current nomination requirements, documentation, deadlines, and induction arrangements.
